After benefiting more than 5,000 residents from Quezon City, the Sebisyo Muna! Caravan of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo today brings its roster of socio-civic and community development projects to the people of Pasig City.
After a week-long Lenten celebration, President Arroyo’s program springs back to action to bring much-needed basic services direct to the people such as a whole-day, free medical and dental mission.
Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo joined by top government officials led by PAGCOR Chairman Efraim C. Genuino, overall project coordinator of the Serbisyo Muna and Pasig Mayor Vicente Eusebio.
“The participants of the Serbisyo Muna feel very fulfilled with the success of this project. Seeing how we are able to make a difference in the people’s lives through out joint efforts, inspires us to do more for them,” Genuino said.
Other activities during the caravan are: turnover of licenses to operate a Botika ng Barangay outlets to six barangays in Pasig City by the DOH and OPCA; Pagcor’s distribution of 200 pairs of prescription eyeglasses; awarding of 622 PHILHEALTH cards to identified beneficiaries; DFA’s mobile passport, NBI-on-wheels and SSS Online services; DSWD’s food for school program; livelihood programs and demonstrations of skills and free services by TESDA and TLRC; seminars on road ethics by the DOTC and on energy safety practices and efficiency measures by the DOE; presentation of Micro-Finance Institutions (MFIs), lectures on micro-lending; DA’s distribution of assorted vegetable seeds; distribution of information materials by the PIA and Meralco; Serbisyo Muna Assistance by several agencies; and NFA’s deployment of Rolling Stores.
Coinciding with the event, the Pasig City Public Employment Services Office (PESO) will also hold a job fair in front of the Pasig City Hall.
